Sir,

With reference to the letter from this Department of the 18th of January I am directed by Mr. Secretary Thomas to request you to inform the Board of Education that a telegram has been received from the Governor of Hong Kong asking that six qualified Assistant Mistresses should be engaged, two for kindergarten and the others for general English subjects. It is desired that they should arrive in the Colony about September.

2. One of the appointments (kindergarten) is being offered to Miss R.R.Norrie. This lady was recommended for appointment in your letter of the 6th of December 1923, but the offer made to her was subsequently withdrawn before her reply on a request from the Governor that no further vacancies should be

filled

THE SECRETARY,

BOARD OF EDUCATION.
